Ribbed glass

Clear by day, warm through the ribs

The same desk moves from open daylight to a softer evening. Vertical ribs break the bulb into fine lines of warmth, while the clear glass keeps the cloche crisp.

Material study

The glass, the arm and the plate

A ribbed clear shade, a short metal arm and a round wall plate keep the sconce tactile from every side.

Close view of the ribbed glass shade, brass arm and plug-in cord — **Ribbed clear glass**Vertical ribs in clear glass soften the bulb into an even, comfortable glow.

Close view of two tumbled-brass ribbed shades and the shared arm — **Two ribbed shades**Two clear shades share one slim arm, held off the wall at a small joint.

Close view of the tumbled-brass wall plate, bar joint and ribbed shade — **Round wall plate**A round plate and a straight bar give the three-light version a clean wall line, with the plug-in cord dropping from the plate.

Design highlights

A glass bell on a measured arm

The eye moves from the metal plate, along the arm, and settles inside the ribbed shade.

One, two or three shades share the same ribbed cloche.
Tumbled brass, chrome and black change the metal, not the glass.
A 180 cm / 70.9″ plug-in cord reaches a nearby outlet.
